Welcome to the Mendo Glossary. This glossary defines the most important concepts around Generative AI and AI agents. Each definition is tailored to real-world applications and business impact.
AI Agent
An AI agent is an autonomous program, often powered by a generative model like GPT, capable of interacting with its environment to perform tasks, make decisions, or achieve goals. It can act proactively and adapt to context.
AI Upskilling
The process of progressively acquiring the right reflexes and habits for using AI effectively. At Mendo, upskilling is driven by practice, concrete use cases, and embedded support.
AI Use Case
A concrete application of AI to a business task. Examples: writing a job description, summarizing a meeting, or preparing a commercial offer. Mendo activates these use cases directly in business tools.
Agent Orchestration
The coordination of multiple AI agents (and sometimes humans) in a workflow. Example: one agent drafts an email, another reviews it for compliance, a human approves the final version.
Autonomous Agent
An AI agent that can execute multiple steps in a process without human intervention, including generating hypotheses, testing solutions, and self-correcting.
Business AI Agent
A specialized AI agent trained for a specific domain (HR, Finance, Sales, etc.). It understands business-specific data and workflows to assist users effectively.
ChatGPT
A language model developed by OpenAI that can generate text, simulate dialogue, explain concepts, and assist with many business tasks.
Conversational Agent
An AI agent designed to communicate using natural language (chatbots, voicebots). It understands and generates human-like responses, typically powered by a language model like GPT.
Fine-tuning
The process of customizing a language model with domain-specific data to improve its relevance and performance in a given context.
Generative AI
A type of artificial intelligence that can generate content (text, images, code, audio, etc.) from a prompt. Examples: GPT, DALL·E, Copilot.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
An AI assistant embedded in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams…) to help users create, summarize, analyze, or automate daily tasks.
Prompt
A command or question sent to a generative model to get a specific output. Example: “Summarize this meeting in 5 key points.”
Prompt Engineering
The craft of designing clear, effective, and reusable prompts to get optimal results from AI. A key skill for working efficiently with AI agents.
Return on Investment (AI ROI)
Return on investment from implementing AI tools, typically measured in time saved, improved output quality, reduced manual effort, or better team autonomy.
Workflow Integration
The approach of embedding AI directly into the tools people already use (e.g., Word, Outlook, Salesforce), so they can adopt it without switching contexts.
At Mendo, we believe that employees adopt more effectively what they understand, experience, and master within their own tools. Our solution combines technology, seamless integration, and memory anchoring. Designed for large enterprises that want to onboard all their teams into the AI journey, without friction.
