Microsoft Copilot - FAQ

What’s the difference between Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT?
Arrow

Microsoft Copilot uses OpenAI's GPT‑4 technology, integrated into Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.). It's designed to work seamlessly within enterprise tools.
These copilots are often powered by OpenAI’s models (like GPT‑4) but are hosted and embedded by Microsoft in its ecosystem (Azure, M365...).
ChatGPT (by OpenAI) offers a more open and often richer experience, with early access to new features (like reasoning tools or image analysis).
Google Gemini is a direct competitor, integrated into Google Workspace. It’s currently less mature in French-language use, but rapidly evolving.
Mistral is a European player developing open-source models, but it’s not yet widely used in mainstream productivity tools.
